Metacoda is excited to announce that the latest version of our Metacoda Plug-ins – version 6 – is ready to roll and even better than ever!
The new release has been a really positive experience, with highlights including:
- The opportunity to include customer enhancement requests.
- Additions that make it even quicker and easier to manage SAS metadata and security, especially when it comes to tracing permissions, synchronizing identities, and configuring roles and capabilities.
- A really productive beta-testing phase (many thanks to everyone who helped!).

- New Permissions Tracer Plug-in: A new plug-in that enables you to trace permissions and access controls for a combination of a metadata object and a metadata identity (user or group). This will help you to understand where effective permissions are being sourced from and, if required, show why permissions are conflicted or being unexpectedly overridden. (See screenshot below.)
- Hybrid Identity Sync Profiles: An advanced feature that can be used to combine multiple independent identity sources for synchronizing external users and groups with SAS metadata.
- Metacoda Plug-ins Metadata Installer: For customers who want more control over which Metacoda Plug-ins and features are accessible to different types of users. This utility registers several Metacoda Plug-ins capabilities that can then be granted to roles using the standard SAS Management Console User Manager plug-in.
- Support for Multiple SAS Software Versions: Metacoda Plug-ins 6.0 is supported for use with SAS software versions 9.4, 9.3 and 9.2 (including SAS Visual Analytics) at all maintenance levels.
- Automatic Upgrades for Metacoda Customers: If you’re already a Metacoda customer we’ve sent your new version 6 licenses. The Metacoda Plug-ins 6.0 R1 installation packages are now available for download from support.metacoda.com
